SPL. New chip for DAC768xs
With the DAC768xs chip, SPL introduces a new digital-to-analog converter for the SPL Phonitor x and Phonitor e. The DAC768xs is the successor to the DAC192 chip.
The DAC768xs is a smaller version of the DAC768 and offers almost the same range of digital functions as the DAC768 reference model used in Phonitor xe and Director Mk2. The DAC768xs is cheaper and less - that's why it is called xs.
XS still meets high standards. It works with 32 bits and a PCM sampling rate of up to 768 kHz, as well as DSD4. Like the DAC768, xs is also equipped with AKM's AK4490 chip.
Thanks to the DAC768xs, you can now play high-resolution audio, whether it be PCM or DSD in the highest quality. A function that was previously laid down for users of Phonitor XE or Director Mk2.
Unlike the DAC768 (Phonitor xe, Director Mk2), the only two things that are not present in the DAC768xs are the AES / EBU input and the analog DLP120. DLP120 are two separate VOLTAiR analog low-pass filters, one for PCM and one for DSD.
DAC 768xs is compatible with Windows and macOS.
Any Phonitor with DAC192 can be easily upgraded to the new DAC768xs - modification can be done by an SPL dealer, distributor or service partner.
