The history of Rockport Technologies began as Payor Acoustics Inc. in 1984 with the creation of a compact speaker system with an active low-frequency section. We have long realized that the two areas of greatest loss in the analog reproduction circuit are those where the conversion of mechanical energy into electrical energy occurs on the source side, and then back into mechanical (acoustic) energy on the speaker. Consequently, these two sites provide the greatest opportunities for improving the audio system, and were areas where we have focused our attention for over 30 years.
The first product, called Rockport Technologies, was introduced in 1991. This iconic product was the original Sirius phonograph, which won instant international recognition. Since then, Rockport Technologies has developed a family of reference production phonographs and speakers, as well as custom transcription phonographs for Sony / CBS. Our products have won numerous awards for performance and innovation in the Hi-End community, both domestic and foreign, and enthusiastically doing their job, set the standards by which to evaluate others ...
From the founder and chief designer of Rockport Technologies, Andy Payor: “I was lucky to have a love of music that my parents instilled in me at a young age. The deep influence that music has on how we think and feel and evokes memories has always inspired me. Rockport Technologies was a means of expressing my enduring passion for music, an implementation of the complex technical task of recreating the very essence of live musical performance in a home environment, which began with my first phonograph, the vintage Garrard soundboard, lennoy Used at the age of 11 years. Since then, as the needle touched the track, I was amazed. I was truly blessed with the opportunity to engage in their vocation, which has allowed me to share my passion for music with others. "
Thanks to an extremely carefully considered selection of materials, combined with strict adherence to the principles of mechanical, electrical and acoustic engineering, our products are designed to maintain the absolute integrity of the original musical signal. This allows you to maximize your recordings, fully capturing the nuances and primordial emotions of the original musical work, regardless of how simple or demanding they are. Since our designs are inherently tonal neutral, the selection of related equipment can be made without the need for additional tonal compensation.
Since the resonance color and unwanted energy storage were practically eliminated from our designs, instrumental timbres and harmonic structures are preserved unchanged. Low-level spatial signals that actually determine the recording location are also correctly reproduced, and both large and small dynamic contrasts are accurately visualized, thereby allowing the listener to plunge into the pristine musical material. All our products are also designed to integrate into the real listening environment for which they are designed - physically, acoustically and aesthetically.
Rockport Technologies has always attracted customers who share our passion for music and can recognize the value of exquisitely crafted, technically superior equipment that, above all, pays tribute to the impressions and emotions of the music. Our products are unparalleled in terms of their intrinsic value and build quality, and this is what allows them to be out of competition. Rockport Technologies products are designed with performance in mind as the main criterion, and our customers have always been those who want to own an audio component that is clearly superior to the competition, demonstrates technical superiority and excellent build quality, but most importantly, brings them closer to the music.
